Rileys Dollhouse Day 9

Day 0 - trimwork and the top

I can now finally put on the last bit of trim work. This amounts to scribing in custom peices and glueing them in place. This is also an area that I can be a little creative with, because there are no plans for this house to begin with!

Before putting on the rear top plate that finishes out the back, Ive cut out some relief spots with my micro-router, and have imbeded the hinges so they will never come out.

With that done, Ive finished the top, putting a 1/8" roundover edge around the top of the lid, and finish sanding to a 220 grit. With the top installed, you can see all the great storage space for the goodies!

I can guarantee that youll find no other dollhouses like this one available on the market! Its customized for the child, has ample storage space, is safe, and as you can see by the other houses Ive made, a person can STAND on it! It really is a regular peice of furniture, and its unfinished so a parent can spend time decorating it with their child.

The only thing left on this project is to finish sand the entire house down to 220 grit. I will spend almost an entire day in just sanding! Ill be posting some final pictures in the next day or two, so check back!!!
